When it comes to home decorating it can be difficult to know where to start and in some cases what to use, especially if you’ve had limited experience in the area. Even the basic decisions carry a lot of weight; do you paper or paint your ceilings? The same goes for your walls; do you put carpet down or have lino or even leave your floors bare?

There are so many questions and decisions it can be difficult to know where to start. Even asking your parents (the people most are likely to turn to) or trades people who know about these things, the answers don’t come. Everyone has their own opinions on the matter, so perhaps it comes down to personal taste and budget?

Over the years it has become increasingly apparent that we are buying larger and larger beds. It is actually quite rare to find a house with a single bed in it anywhere. We have become over-sized with our bed purchases. But with money being tight these days it is perhaps time we downsized.

For a start children do not need double beds. They are smaller than full-grown adults so it makes sense to give them smaller beds. Single beds will do fine and are immediately cheaper than the three quarter or double bed you were originally going to buy. Perhaps they will grumble as they like the luxury of space, but if you are trying to save your pennies then ignore their grumbles and stick to what you know will save you money.
